5 Loaves Community Garden
In the spring, summer and early fall you can grow your own vegetables and produce on a plot that belongs to you! You can save money on your overall grocery bill or simply feed your family with wholesome, whole foods. Minister Denise Wanzo has faithfully run this ministry for the past 20 years!

Friendship & Fellowship
Our church has a reputation for its warmth and friendliness. The ladies of Friendship & Fellowship play a big role in making this the case by offering refreshments each Sunday as well as for special events and occasions. Each December, they host the Annual Christmas Bazaar, which features local artisans. Proceeds go to the Iris Thompson Scholarship Fund.

Christian Education
The Health & Wellness Ministry ensures that healthy snacks are available between and after church services and events. They also partner with other health-organizations to provide mini-health fairs, immunizations, and medical tests. The UCM Walkers gather to walk three times weekly. All offerings are open to the community. Contact the church for more information.

Committed Men
As a tradition, the committed Men are up at the crack of dawnon Easter cooking breakfast for the entire congresgation and visotrs. Likewsie, they hold several fish-fryfundraisers each year, including serving at the Annual Montbello Alive! community anniversary celeration. The guys often lend a hand where need fo rchurch maintenace and upkeep.

Iris Thompson Scholarship
Named for the grandmother of Chaplain Denise Wanzo, this scholarship fund has supported dozens of UCM students and community members with the goal of attending and completing college.

Choirs
UCM has two choirs, the Gospel Choir, which sings both contemporary and traditional gospel music and the Liturgical Choir, which more spirituals and liturgical music. Both choirs are led by Minister of Music, Cephas Howard, and are open to all who feel led to sing praises to the Lord! Each choir rehearses weekly.

Food Bank of the Rockies Mobile Food Bank
On first and third Thursdays of each month, the Food Bank of the Rockies sends a 16-wheeler truck filled with food for distribution to the community without any proof of residency or ID. Please click for an update on FBR mobile food distributions.

Outreach
Each Thanksgiving the Outreach Ministry collects names and puts together Thanksgiving baskets for community members in need. Additionally, this ministry has taken up collections of personal care items and gently used bras for the Free the Girls initiative which supports women who have escaped sex trafficking and support their families through selling bras.

Community Service
The United Church of Montbello works with various court-appointed community service programs. We provide opportunities for young people and others to fulfill their community service hours by doing various tasks around the grounds and campus. If you are interested in community service please call the church office and set it up with Pastor Vernon Jones, Jr.
The Urban Farm @Montbello
Since 2015, the Urban Farm at Montbello has provided thousands of pounds of fresh produce for the community. Through partnerships with neighborhood schools in and church camps, students are learning about sustainability and how to grow and eat healthy food. Sometimes they even get to play with the farm animals. Children's Farms for Action run this farm with compassionate care.

JLT Dancers & Jr. Dancers
Named for the former pastor of UCM (John Thompson), the JLT Dancers minister through dance throughout the Denver MEtro region and have even traveled and danced in Africa. They practice twice weekly at UCM and provide dance selections at church monthly.

Ushers
Under the umbrella of our Health & Wellness Ministry, this dedicated band of amblers gathers twice weekly (Tuesday at 6 am and Friday at 7 am and again at 6 pm). As long is the weather is manageable, they walk the neighborhood for exercise, camaraderie, and spiritual rejuvenation.
